Marco was born in 1977. He was raised in Edinburgh Scotland's capital city brought up on a diet of clubs and raves and the free party seen, Marco’s first real break came in the late 90’s when he entered the Vestax DJ Mixing Competition which he was runner up in the contest, this raised his profile amongst local promoters. Which lead to him being offered a number of gigs, some of which became residencies, around his home town of Edinburgh and various other towns and Cities in Scotland this also led to him supporting artist like Mr C, Kenny Larkin, Larry Heard, Marshall Jefferson, Robert Owens, Mathew Herbert, Felix The Housecat, Seb Fontaine, Jim Shaft Ryan, Murray Richardson and Timo Mass. Marco's rise from total obscurity has been achieved due to his natural ability, genuine enthusiasm, and his constant desire to improve his craft.Technical excellence is very important to Marco, so when he is not playing out you will find him practicing, mixing and experimenting with various styles, endeavouring to constantly improve his already very impressive D.J. capabilities. Marco describes his sound as Mainroom Groovy Business a bit of tech a bit of house which meet in the middle some where and the outcome is magical , he mixes in a style that moves and grabs any dance floor, no matter what direction he chooses to take it, once he has captured you with his inventive style there is no escape until he has spun his last tune .Coming straight from the dance floor, Marco knows instinctively what it is a crowd wants, and how to deliver it, his genuine love for music is abundantly clear. Marco plays out more of a funky techy sound but holds a love for deep house , disco, funk , anything with a groove really .... also there are no laptops or retouch to any of my mixs these are all done on 2 decks and a mixer. A veteran of the New England dance scene Mike Manson has been playing in New England for nearly 15 years. Starting out in the rave scene in early 1996 and continuing to become one of the residents of the legendary Municipal Cafe. Mike was a resident for 6 years playing every Friday night and his selection of music had refined into a style all his own. Many opportunities arose from this residence and teaming up with Spiritual Emporium, Muck Crew, and Columns of Knowledge as a promoter and a DJ earlier on helped his DJ career move forward. Once established as a professional DJ in New England his adventure into the club scene began. Playing at night clubs and commercial events such as Sunset Session by Room 960, The Ware House, Koji Yakatori, Bocca Rossa, Sullys Pub, Club Therapy, and Room 960. A six month residence with Koji hosting an event called “ I <3 Koji “ and playing top dance tracks every Friday Night. His current residence for Bocca Rossa hosting an event called “ Go Deep “ and " Ibiza Lounge " playing every Friday and Saturday Night. Both venues are located in Downtown Hartford and Mike can be found somewhere in this little city every weekend. Hosting a podcast starting in early 2010 on podOmatic.com called " Mike Manson's The Cast ". It’s a popular podcast and is featured daily and is one of the top 200 house music podcasts on the site containing an estimated 250,000 podcast users. Mike can also be found on Itunes in the Podcast Store and all of his sets are free to download. Most noted for his " Half an Hour " episodes and " Live at the Event " pre-recorded sets. Starting a new venture with online live radio on an up and coming show called Boom-Box Radio with friends and fellow local DJs is the next step in Mikes online djing future. Although Mike has been DJing for so long he is still learning from each show and that can be seen by the technologies he has begun to utilize and how threcreativity in the music he plays now is effected. Converting to Traktor Scratch Pro and utilizing Native Instruments Kontrol X1 and Maschine to bring his creativity to new heights. With the digital age of DJing in full swing Mike has made sure to keep with the times and trends of his craft. Specializing in House, Tech House, and Minimal House He's sure to bring a great vibe to any show he's involved in.
